“Those who have insight will shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven, and those who lead the many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.
(4) But you, Daniel, roll up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge.”
Professional organizers are witnesses of this increased knowledge and the pursuit of it. Increased distractions, increased consumerism, increased frustration, but more importantly, we witness the dissatisfying relationships that come with these increased distractions and the pursuit of worldly happiness.
At the end of days…no, not today, but at the end of all days, we will stand before our Savior and King Jesus and give an account of our time on Earth, be it five seconds or 120 years. In this maddening pursuit of knowledge, and its by-product of clutter that happens, as a result, many people are now becoming disillusioned and are asking one simple question; “What is truly important?” Professional Organizers have many ways to illuminate an answer to that question.
“Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.”
In this overly cluttered world, I believe God is not only speaking to those who win souls for Christ in Daniel 12:3 but also to those who are setting a foundation to equip others to bring souls into the Kingdom. When our environments are in order, when distractions are kept to a minimum, when peace prevails in our homes, we can hear His voice because distractions are no longer winning the shouting game. By creating an orderly atmosphere where new possibilities and opportunities become revealed, daily purposes become clear and meaningful. Clients begin to realize their God-given talents and gifts, and they can now be used to their fullest potential.
One day… at the end of days, all earthly things will pass away. All of our color-coded filing systems, label makers, and organizing storage bins will be extinguished, and new earth will be created. Will our labor on earth have meaning? Non-Christians in the Professional Organizing field, whose labor is for this world and whose goals is to facilitate a better life-on-earth experience, won’t be able to satisfy the Scripture that says, “Be not conformed to this world”…for all things will pass away, and what is truly lasting and of value will last for eternity.
“The heavens declare the glory of God, the dome of the sky speaks the work of his hands. Every day it utters speech, every night it reveals knowledge…” – Psalm 19.
Christ gives us the wisdom to create order and His peace that passes all understanding so that His love can shine through us in all circumstances. He helps professional organizers to pass on and transfer our techniques, knowledge, and wisdom. I may never know, on this side of heaven, how many lives have been influenced. My sincere desire that lives be transformed from the chaos that this world brings to the lasting, eternal peace and purpose that comes from an organized life.
